Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. For a child with Irish origins, who was surrounded her by talented parents, and her family did this naturally. Maureen was welcomed into this cherished haven within Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th 1920. Marguerita Lea. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. His father, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin and was also the owner of the well-known Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons came 2nd in the household of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this stunning group. Maureen was a great athlete and was a gruelling athlete in games as a child. This naturally-born interest with her ability to perform was impressive. This was apparent that she was the winner of each Feis for theatre and drama the Irish had to offer. She was accepted at the Abbey Theater by age 14, and she was able to fulfill her goals of opera as well as classical theater and singing.
