Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was accepted as a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano and harpsichord for three years. Lennox made it through on a student allowance, and part-time employment to supplement her income. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents aren't the same as other Royal Academy classmates. So she began thinking about other paths she could take. Lennox started her professional career in the year 1976, as a singer with the group Dragons Playground. The band disbanded shortly before the band appeared on I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. From 1977 to 1980, she was the lead singer for The Tourists, a British pop group. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later be part of Eurythmics. In the years following, Lennox began working on her debut album as a solo artist Diva which was released in 1992. It was a huge success both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox has selected her top blues along with soul and jazz music. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four improvisations on piano was published by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P.
