Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on the 25th of December in 1954, at Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was a student at Lennox's Royal Academy of Music, London during the 1970s. She studied the harpsichord and flautist piano over three years. She survived on a student stipend and did part-time jobs to supplement her budget. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was dissatisfied with her performance as compared to the performance of the other students. She started to think about different options. Lennox played flute in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band before they appeared in I.T.V's talents show New Faces. From 1977 to 1980, she was the lead vocalist for The Tourists, a British Pop band. The band was where she met Dave Stewart and together they created the duo Eurythmics. Then, Lennox began working on her first solo album Diva and it came out in 1992. It became a huge success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album as a solo artist was released in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox picked her favorite blues and soul tracks. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. The E.P. This album is a companion piece to her album Now I Let you go... artwork, which was displayed at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. This is also her first self-released album.
