Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox went to Lennox's Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She studied the harpsichord and the flautist piano for three years. Lennox was able to survive on a student's stipend as well as working part-time to supplement her earnings. Lennox was able to make a change in her career path following her dissatisfaction with her inexperience and lack of talent the same way as other Royal Academy students. Lennox was a flute player in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band prior to her group being asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent competition New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she was vocalist for The Tourists. A British pop group. Here she met Dave Stewart who would later join Eurythmics. Lennox was later able to release her first solo album Diva. This was released in 1992. The album was a massive hit, both in terms of the sales as well as critical acclaim. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo album was released in November 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite soul jazz and blues tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera includes four keyboard improvised tracks. The E.P. First album of hers, Now I'm Letting You Go... is the perfect accompaniment to her work of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on 25 December. She is a social activist, philanthropist as well as a singer. The Tourists were a new-wave group who had some recognition in the 1970s. Then, she became a part of the band with fellow artist Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva produced many successful tracks, such as Why as well as Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa a studio album which was released in 1995, features songs that are re-imagined from her biggest hits, such as The No MoreI Always Love Yous (and The Whiter Shade of Pale). Six studio albums of her own as well as a compilation album, are the result of her efforts.
